I'm a chemistry undergraduate at Abilene Christian University with experience in research and leadership. My interests span the sciences and the humanities, from physical chemistry and biology to history and religion.
Outside the lab, I serve in student government, lead Chem Club as the chaplain, and mentor underclassmen. I believe in lifelong learning and hope to impact the world through science and intentional relationships.
Here are some of my recent positions and research experiences.
Advanced the study on the multimeric states of mvaE fusion protein found in the mevalonate pathway using vector plasmid manipulation and protein expression techniques.
Designed an experiment to study carbon radical recombination using pulse laser photolysis cavity ring-down spectroscopy.
Studied quorum sensing inhibition and the biosynthetic pathway of prodigiosin in S. Marcescens.
Developed individualized tutoring sessions in chemistry and biology courses. Taught organic chemistry wet lab and spectroscopy techniques to undergraduates at ACU.
Elected as the sophomore class president and as a class senator to serve the student body. Worked in the student affairs and sustainability committees.
Synthesized novel organometallics to study hydrogenase mimics, with a focus on osmium containing compounds.
These are some things that I like to do in my free time! I love being creative and working towards goals outside of work.
I have pursued art since a young age. I mostly sketch animals and landscapes using charcoal, but sometimes I use oil pastels.
Learn MoreEven after competing in track and cross country at a high level I still enjoy running when I can.
Learn MoreI collect more books than I read... I like to call myself a book dragon. When I do read I enjoy nonfiction, biographies, and some sci-fi.
